Cutie Pies in the Sky Update July 2013

Still building the layers of this piece, a little larger format than previous works and it takes a while to see all of the forms and creatures. Need to adjust a few colors and get more movement.

The Quilt Show Feb 2013

Drawing with Auntie

During my visit, I got to spend some time drawing and creating with my sister's two wonderful kids...lots of imaginative fun...

FT at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art

In Feb I went to visit my parents in VA. Mom and I spent a day touring the Virginia Museum of Fine Art. They have a wonderful space and some great pieces. This is one of my favorite by the artist Fred Tomaselli,
entitled Woodpecker (2008). The collage and painted details are a true inspiration.

Art around town

My very arty friend Meredith creates special little art gifts that she then leaves around town as a surprise and a treat to all who are lucky enough to find one. Here are some examples of her work on her pinterest board.

Hand Drawn Holiday Cards

Years ago we use to send out hand drawn holiday cards. I didn't call them Christmas cards because only on a few occasions did I actually make the December 25th deadline. They were pen and ink pieces with a very brief news letter/update inside. As our family grew and changed so did the cards. Here are a few of these fun timeless slices of our life.

Surreal...Maybe.

I started painting again a couple weeks ago...and I am so enjoying experience, we'll see where to work takes me. I will try to record each session as the images/shapes transform and develop.
